Description
Moraine Lake, at an altitude of 6,181 ft/1885 m in the Canadian Rockies, gets its distinctive turquoise color from the powdery moraine content ("rock flour") of its glacier-fed waters.
Located in the Banff region of the Canadian Rockies near Lake Louise, it is surrounded by the towering Wenchemna Peaks.
This view is from the Rockpile, which is part of the moraine that dams the lake.
