Artist's Description

Named for one of the craggy regions through which her narrow gauge railway runs, the Rhätische Bahn's No. 107 "Albula" on a fan trip in Canton Graubünden on a crisp October afternoon. No.107, a Class G4/5 locomotive, was built in 1906. She remains spry and limber thanks to all the TLC she gets from her friends and, of course, the support of the Rhätische Bahn for these special excursions. ©Steve Ember

In addition to his signature New York (including many “SubwayScapes” integrating elevated rail lines into views of the urban fabric), Baltimore, and Washington cityscapes, his work also encompasses Alpine landscapes, European, and American motifs, including night scenes, as well as railroad and aviation subjects, and aerial photography.
