Only the masonry walls remain of the Stone House at the base of Maryland Heights mountain and
along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. The house dates from 1840.
And, when the light is right, as on this early June afternoon, the rough textures of stone and encroaching vegetation, along with the play of shadows, can be quite eye-engaging, especially when captured on black and white film.
In this case, the film was Kodak Tri-X shot through a Nikkor AI-S 24mm f/2.8 lens on my Nikon FA.
